ReplyDeleteI think the Lea Michele, age 24, is a great choice for TIME’S top 100 people of the year. Why? Well, Lea, for one, as an amazing voice when she sings. Lea stars in the TV show, GLEE, as Rachel Berry. I think she has affected the world because she has inspired young people to get involved in musical programs and she is a role model to those people. Lea has a beautiful voice, and has TIME Magazine says: “she’s savvy, beautiful, and an extremely gifted singer-actress-dancer-comedian with a perfect pitch”. Elton John. An amazing musician. Not just that but an idol for people all over the world. Elton has effected the world with his music and who he is as a person. He has inspired the world with his music, and the contributions he makes to society. He has joined the fight against AIDS and is still fighting not to mention he donates money and uses he resources to protect the vulnerable among us. Being Gay he inspires other people not to afraid to show they’re different and he also stands as a model for people everywhere. His family was against him being a musician but he still followed his dreams and look where he is now. Elton John is a idol for me because he encourages me that no matter what the odds are to follow your dreams and one day you’ll get there.

ReplyDeleteThrough the time of February 7th, 1978 in Cedar Rapids Iowa to present day peoples lives have been changed even from laughter to helping out in charity’s and spending his hard earned money to help the less fortunate. He has spent lots of money on building houses in different areas in the world to help people have places to live and as well as to sell the house to raise money for charity’s. He has also helped people in less important way such as laughter and entertainment. He has bean in movies which we have all seen and love and well as been a great prankster on the show Punk’d which has made us all laugh over the scared and anger reactions of other peoples fake misfortune.
Sandra Annette Bullock is one of the best actresses to ever live. She has won so much things in her life. She was born in Arlington, Virginia. She studied ballet and vocal arts as a child, then was in small parts in her mothers opera productions. Sandra helped her mother on her opera tours throughout Europe. She has won best actress oscar for the movie The Blind Side and awarded Golden Globe for best actress, Screen actors guild award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role and the Academy award for best actress in The Blind Side.
ReplyDeleteIf you had to choose one person out of the TIME’S Top 100 people of the year, who would you choose? A leader? A singer? An actor? I chose Sarah Palin because she is a strong leader and is an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteSarah Palin was born on February 11th, 1964 in Sandpoint, Idaho. She now lives in Wasilla, Alaska with her husband Todd, daughters, Bristol, Willow, and Piper, and sons, Track and Trig.
She is a Republican Conservative Politician and delivers “a rugged individualism, self-reliance, and herculean work ethic that resonates now more than ever in a country spinning away from being in last place.”
Sarah is a special soul who drives us to be assets to our families, communities, and our beloved country.
She has an independent, patriotic spirit and attitude. She also presents a soul of our traditional ways which is alive and well. The way she lives and what she says makes us feel determined to always try our absolute best. She dedicates herself to make America a more successful country and us Americans to be better people.
Sarah Palin may 46 years old, but is very common and sensible. Sarah Palin is my idol and she deserves to be in the Time’s top 100 leaders.

ReplyDeleteI propose that Time Magazines person of the year, Banksy, was a good choice by the editors. I read the short article by Shepard Fiarey. Banksy is a famous graffiti artist. He is a graffiti artist who uses his art for humor. He crosses lines to prove that they are irrelevant. He has his art everywhere. On the streets in museums or he sells them. He says political statements with a sense of humor. His work is filled with metaphors that transcend language barriers. I think that he was a good choice for most influence person of the year because he isn’t afraid to speak his mind and does it in a humorous way.
I believe that the article by Donatella Versace in Time, really touches on Jet Li’s generous acts of kindness. Jet Li is a special kind of person. He is a man that even with all of the talent and money that he can be the selfless person he is. Li, with his profit with Lethal Weapon 4, Return of the Mummy, Dragon Emperor, He created his foundation that assists countries across the world after natural disasters. This foundation also focuses on the well being of children in 3rd world countries. I think that Li Lian Ji, Actor, Martial artist, Wushu Champion, and Film Producer, is truly a man to be recognized.

ReplyDelete“Every comedian I know is a pain in the ass.” These are words from the famous Robert DeNiro about the actors he works with. Recently, he has had the honor of working with none other than Ben Stiller, Mr. Funny himself. Recently, Stiller has been added to TIME Magazines people of the year list and I was amazed by what DeNiro had to say. To him, Stiller is different then most comedians with his old-fashion sense of respect and his tender heart. Stiller attended his wedding and honored DeNiro at Kennedy Hall, proving that he is not like other actors DeNiro has worked with. He has another great quality though: seeing all the pain and hurt in the world and doing his part in ending tragedy. When Stiller heard about the disaster in Haiti, he knew he had to help. He started a website called StillerStrong.org that was filled with jokes. So far, he has raised $299,549, and the money is still coming in! In my opinion, this site is an amazing idea and contains so much hope. DeNiro describes the affect of this site: “You log on for the jokes then stay because Ben has moved you; and before you know it, you’ve made a contribution, and the world’s a slightly better place. What a pain in the ass.”

ReplyDeleteAn article from New York Times talks about our generation, looking at the how our generation is more self centered than earlier generations. Psychologist, Nathan Dwell, has analyzed 3 decades of music. Looking at the music, he noticed that top hits from today, use the words “I” and “Me”. Top Hits from the 1980’s were more likely to be about happy togetherness, and using the words “We” and “Us”.
“Late adolescents and college students love themselves more today than ever before,” Dr. DeWall says. Dr. DeWall has found that their is a significant trend toward narcissism and hostility in popular music.
From a different point of view, from Brent Donnellan, who is a psychology professor. She says, “Today’s youth is less anxious about social problems.”
In my opinion, things haven’t really changed, besides what goes on around us in are community, causing different opinions and emotions.
Sarah Palin has affected the world through her “independent patriotic spirit” and capability of “representing the good while exposing the bad and ugly.” She does this by representing her good, conservative views while exposing her thoughts on the unfavored wantings of liberals such as an increase in taxes. Her picture is under Leaders under the Special Features on The 2010 TIME 100. Obviously, she has earned that title. I agree with TIME’s choice to include Sarah Palin in the 2010 100 issue.
